Curious about the careers women are choosing? Girls Day Out is a science and engineering fair targeted towards middle-school girls in San Diego and hosted at several local college campuses -- UCSD, SDSU, and USD.

Girls Day Out provides free hands-on activities for middle school girls and their parents to promote interest in STEM. The event features a woman STEM keynote speaker, campus/lab tours and hands-on activity stations.

SPAWAR San Diego typically sponsors 5 half-day events per year.

A typical Girls Day Out event might attract 40-60 middle and high school girls, 15-20 STEM professionals (including local industry) and 20-40 students from the university.
